Grayken, 60, spent $35m (£28m) in September buying a penthouse in his home city of Boston. The former Morgan Stanley banker's UK base is a mansion near Guildford. He snapped up the London-based Quintain property business via his private equity firm Lone Star. Grayken, who has Irish citizenship, founded Lone Star in 1995 and it manages $64bn of funds. He owns property around Wembley stadium, including the London Designer Outlet and Wembley Arena, and has planning permission for 5,500 homes in the area.
