An entrepreneur from Lyons, Foriel-Destezet, 81, and his wife Aline live in London. He started the Ecco employment agency and turned it into France's largest supplier of temporary staff before it merged with Swiss group Adia in 1996 to create Adecco, a recruitment giant. It is worth more than £10bn, with Foriel-Destezet's holding rising to £432m, and share sales over the years have netted him £1.4bn. He has made sizeable charity donations and Aline is a benefactor of the Institut Français in London's South Kensington.
