Beaufour, 52, and his sister Anne own 58% of Ipsen, France’s second largest pharmaceuticals firm, where they both sit on the board. The Paris-headquartered company's shares have had a good run and the operation is now worth £5.14bn. It was founded by their grandfather in 1929 and after their father’s death in 2000 the siblings inherited their holding. We assume that Beaufour, who has a home in London and is a director of UK education charity the Alasol Charitable Foundation, has half the family stake.
