In 1968 Bhatti, 82 later this month, and school friend Sir Anwar Pervez (qv) joined Adalat Chaudhary (qv) to set up a shop in London's Old Brompton Road. Eight years later they founded the Bestway cash-and-carry to pharmacy conglomerate, whose profits hit a record £400.7m on £2.8bn sales in 2015-16. The businesses are worth £5.5bn. Bhatti and family have a stake worth £522m.
