A businessman pledged his £20m collection of fine wine as collateral for a loan last year in a deal brokered by Jersey resident Jagger, 63. The arrangement stipulated that the bottles had to be stowed in the secure Wiltshire cellars of Octavian Vaults, Jagger’s wine storage company, where he holds £1bn worth of wines for customers who are said to include Lord Lloyd-Webber (qv) and Sir Alex Ferguson. The family’s investment in computer leasing netted £90m in 1987. He also has a firm remastering 78rpm records and another that develops remote-control submarines.
