Cambridge maths graduate Corfield, 58, donated £2.5m to the university last year to bring more women into the male-dominated subject. He sold Silicon Valley software developer Frame Technology to Adobe Systems for £320m in 1995, retaining shares of at least £50m. He now runs nVoq, an American firm specialising in speech recognition technology. Welshman Corfield, who has scaled Mount Everest and runs ultra-marathons, has other investments.
