A shrewd property man and a generous philanthropist, Noé ran asset manager F&C Reit, which was partially taken over in early 2014 by the Bank of Montreal in a £708m deal. It was renamed BMO Real Estate Partners, with Noé remaining executive chairman and the management retaining a 30% stake. Past property deals have boosted his wealth, including sales of shopping centres and retail parks in 2004 and 2005 that netted £137m profit, so we keep London-based Noé, 63, at £500m.
