The Walker family
Aviation, Steel, Property
Best known as the benefactor of Blackburn Rovers, the late Jack Walker and his trustees spent £97m on the Championship football club. The family's wealth dates back to after the war when Walker's father set up a Blackburn sheet metal business, which was sold for £330m in 1989. That operation also took over Jersey European Airways, later rebranded as Flybe, and the family made more than £25m in 2013 selling its stake in the low-cost airline. Extensive property interests take the Walkers to £530m.
