Robert Miller and Princess Marie-Chantal and family
Duty-free shopping, Fashion, Finance
Miller, 84 later this month, co-founded the Hong Kong-based Duty Free Shoppers (DFS) chain with Alan Parker (qv) in 1960, specialising in airport shops. The French group LVMH bought a controlling interest in 1998 and Miller retains a 38.75% stake. Born in America, he is a British citizen and owns a home in London and a 36,000-acre North Yorkshire shooting estate. Much of the family wealth is now tied up in Search Investment Group, which has managed Miller's money since 1974. His daughter Marie-Chantal, 48, is the crown princess of Greece. She founded an eponymous international children's clothing brand and serves on the board of DFS.
